Your dental checkup cost questions answered

What is included in a dental check-up?

At Radix Dentistry, a dental check-up typically includes several key components to ensure your oral health is properly assessed:

  1. Comprehensive exam: Your dental care team consists of skilled dentists and hygienists to examine your teeth, gums and mouth, checking for signs of tooth decay, gum disease and other oral health issues.
  2. Digital X-rays and scans: X-rays are taken to get a detailed view of your teeth, roots and bone structure. This helps identify issues not visible during the physical exam, such as cavities between teeth or bone loss.
  3. Oral cancer screening: At Radix Dentistry, dentists perform an oral cancer screening at an additional cost as part of the routine checkup to detect any early signs of mouth cancer or precancerous conditions.
  4. Consultation: After your dental exam, your care team will review the results with you and develop a personalized treatment plan to help maintain your oral health and address any potential issues.

How much is a dental checkup without insurance?

The cost of a dental check-up without insurance can vary depending on your location. Prices may also differ between offices, and routine cleaning is not included in the base checkup cost at Radix Dentistry.

If you don’t have dental insurance, don’t worry—we can help. We offer third-party financing options to ensure you receive the care you need. You can also explore our Radix Dentistry Savings Plan for additional savings.

Most insurance plans are accepted at your local Radix Dentistry office. Please note, we do not accept Medicaid.

What's the most expensive dental procedure?

The most expensive dental procedure is often considered to be a full mouth restoration. This involves a combination of dental surgeries and treatments such as dental implants, veneers, bridges or crowns to completely overhaul and restore the mouth. The reason for its high cost is due to how comprehensive the procedures can be. It requires advanced technology, multiple visits, various specialists and dental experts. It addresses both aesthetic and functional issues, making it a complex, time-consuming and resource-intensive process.

How much does a dental check-up cost in the US?

The cost of a dental check-up in the U.S. can vary depending on several factors, including dentist location, whether you have dental insurance, and the specific services included. On average nationwide, without insurance, a dental check-up can range $45. This typically includes a comprehensive exam, and X-rays. For a more accurate estimate tailored to your needs, please contact your local Radix Dentistry office.
For those with dental insurance, many plans cover preventive care at 100%, meaning the check-up could be at no cost to you. However, it’s important to note that costs can vary based on your location and the specifics of your insurance plan. At Radix Dentistry, we accept most insurance plans to help reduce out-of-pocket expenses, though we do not accept Medicaid.

What affects the cost of dentures?

Understanding the cost of your dentures begins with a few key factors. How much you pay out of pocket can be even lower than your original plan price.

Type of denture

Not all dentures are created equal—but at Radix Dentistry, all of our types of dentures are created with quality. From budget-friendly to premium, we offer a range of solutions that can be customized based on your needs.

Full dentures
Restore your entire smile with our hand-crafted conventional dentures. From getting back to smiling quickly and affordably to the gold-standard denture solution, you can choose from one of our four packages — Basic, Classic, Partials, or Premium.

Partial dentures
Restore part of your smile with removable partial denture inserts that replace one or more missing teeth. With our three packages — Cast Partial — choose from the most secure fit, the most natural-looking, or the “best of both worlds” most premium solution.

Implant dentures
When you’re ready to upgrade to the best denture solution, implant dentures (snap-in denture) click into place on top of permanent implants in your mouth. Easily snapped on and off, implant dentures are expertly crafted for a secure, snug fit.

Selected materials

All of our dentures are made for durability with high quality materials. We’ll custom-fit your denture using a gum-colored acrylic base and high-quality tooth materials that—depending on which denture package you choose—can be fully personalized for your smile.

Pre-denture treatments

Pre-placement steps
We’ll get your mouth ready for your new dentures by scheduling you for any hygiene work or tooth extractions you may need. When your pre-work procedures are complete, you’ll receive an immediate denture while your mouth heals and your permanent denture is crafted.

What affects pre-denture treatment pricing?
Any added dental cleaning costs or tooth extraction costs depend on your current oral health and if those treatments are needed to prep for your final fitting for either partial dentures or full dentures.

Adjustments

Impressions, fittings, adjustments—getting your smile to its best place can take time. Your team may need to see you a few times to get your smile just right. The number of fittings and adjustments during this process can affect your out-of-pocket costs, but ultimately it varies from patient to patient based on what’s right for your smile.

Onsite labs

Whether you go to an Radix Dentistry location or a private practice, something to consider is whether or not that location has onsite labs. When creating prosthetics, such as a denture, you ultimately spend more money if the creation of your smile has to be outsourced to an out-of-state lab or a lab in another country.

With our onsite labs, we make designing, creating, fitting and adjusting your denture easier than ever so you save time and money.

Insurance coverage

Don’t be overwhelmed by the initial cost of your treatment plan. While we don’t accept Medicaid, we work with most dental insurance providers to ensure as much of your care is covered as possible—so the dentures you need are within reach.

If you don’t have insurance, you can join our Radix Dentistry Savings Plan for only $15.50/month  to save on of your denture care plan.

Financing solutions

At Radix Dentistry, we’re dedicated to finding ways to make your payment options work for your life and budget. To help break down your costs into easy monthly payments, we’ve vetted numerous lenders to find who we believe are the best partners for our patients, all so that you can get great care from a team who will treat you well and financing from a lender who will treat you well, too. Through all of our third-party lender relationships, Radix Dentistry patient applications are approved 9 out of 10 times.

So how much you spend on your care, depends on the solution you choose and what you feel is right for your budget.
