Sedation Options to Help You Relax

One of our major goals at Radix Dentistry is to ensure your constant comfort. Naturally, we use anesthetic to keep you pain-free during treatments. However, we know that patients sometimes need a bit extra to help with dental anxiety. We offer two forms of sedation – nitrous and minimal sedation.

Nitrous oxide, also called laughing gas, has long been used by dentists to lessen anxiety. Nitrous creates a mild, temporary feeling of euphoria. The gas will help you to relax, but its effects are quickly reversed after just a few minutes of breathing normal air.

Minimal sedation is safe and effective. Dr. Habeeb will provide you with medication that you take prior to your visit. The medication will help you relax and stay comfortable during your treatment. However, you will not be entirely unconscious. You may feel a bit foggy after your treatment, so you’ll need someone to drive you home.
